Ruth Park Junior Program

July 9, 2009
4:00pm

Ruth Park Jr. Summer Golf Program
The Ruth Park Junior golf program is a 7 week program ages 7 to 17 and available to kids University City residents and surrounding communities. The program will begin Thursday, June 11th and will continue through August 13th
The program will meet every Thursday from 4pm till 7 pm depending upon the age category.
          The cost of the summer program is $60.00  
(Anyone participating in the First Tee Program in April will receive a $30 discount. )                    
·         9 weeks of instruction and play days from the by PGA teaching professionals
·         Discounts on rates for juniors to play Ruth Park.
·         Discounts for purchases of new or used golf equipment               
·         Cap and Tee shirt
            Refreshments during all sessions
·         Club Fitting
·         Rules and instructional books 
·         Certificate for completion of program
The program is broken down into 3 divisions. 
The Wee Wedges (Ages from 7 – 9) The Putters (Ages 10 – 13) The Drivers (Ages 13-17)
All the participants must attend our rules and etiquette class and pass a test on the rules of golf.  The tests are geared toward their playing level and age.
·         Each instructional session will run for 1 hour based upon age group. 
·         All camps begin at 4pm, 5 and 6pm. (depending on age category)
·         Make up dates will be held one week after the completion of camp.
·         Each class session will have a maximum of 24 students per class. The student/Instructor ratio of 8:1 will ensure plenty of individual instruction time. 
·         The camps will cover the golf swing from top to bottom, and will also stress golf etiquette and the rules of the game.

Ruth Park Jr. Championship … Saturday, August 22nd beginning at 2:00 pm.
Ruth Park Parent – Child Play-Day… Saturday September 12th 2:00 PM
Our mission with our junior golf program is more than teaching kids how to play golf. The purpose is to enhance the values of the game and to show how these values transfer to other aspects of their lives. Students are taught the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; and how values such as responsibility, honesty, respect, confidence and good sportsmanship transfer from
the golf course to everyday life.
